I played at the Norway House tonight for the songwriter’s contest and I’m happy to say I was one of 3 chosen from tonight’s 9 finalists. There are 3 finalists from each of the North, Mid and South areas of the island, and the 9 of us will perform at the “Final Finals” on Fri July 23rd in the evening, on the main stage of the festival in front of a full crowd and a panel of judges consisting of Zak Cohen from www.woodshoprecording.com and Murray McLaughlin who is performing at this year’s fest.

Hey Folks…We’ve just received word that a song I entered in the Islands Folk Fest songwriting contest” Circle me with Water” … has been shortlisted to 1 of 9 finalists for the south island region. Check out their website www.folkfest.bc.ca for all the details and then if you might be inclined, come on down to the Norway House @ 1110 Hillside Ave on Sunday , June 13th …doors at 7:00 p.m. All 9 of us will be there to perform our particular songs to see who might qualify to go to the Final Finals……. This should be exciting and a good chance to hear some of our local singer/songwriters plying their craft, with all original material. Afterwards, as the feature act, Canadian folk icon, Bob Bossin will perform.

there’s nothing can compare to seeing my coastal home again
